The Relais holiday retreat is the product of a painstaking restructuring operation carried out on an ancient medieval village in the very heart of the Chianti Classico zone.
The history of this place date a 1000 years ago, when the small borgo where the Relais is located, were a castle and a court with the San Pietro's chapel. Because of its critical position, on the borders between the two everlasting adversaries Siena and Florence, it has suffered many changes of jurisdiction. The ancient castle and the court were destroyed during the battles between Siena and Florence, only the small chapel resisted, because we can read in some documents, that in 1987 the Relais was a farm with great files of vineyard and olives groves. When the Relais was an abandoned farm, in 1984, the Winery bought it and built a traditional olive press with two stone gears. With the Winery, the Relais started its new life as a peaceful and relaxing place where people could enjoy the Chianti atmosphere and really "live" all the emotions that this unique land could give to each one.
