This dramatically beautiful town clinging to the cliff face as if about to cascade into the turquoise waters below, has become synonymous with beach fashion. PositanoÂ’s elegant shop windows are full of displays of brightly coloured robes, bikinis, bags, and Bermuda shorts all made in cool linen, gauze and cotton. Positano is now home not only to skilled tailors but also to master cobblers, indeed, this is the place where to abandon your shoes and replace them with a pair of hand crafted sandals, made to measure whilst you wait. Positano is also the perfect spot to pick up that special coral cameo or even to order that oh so glamorous wedding dress!Protected from the Northern winds by the Lattari Mountains, Positano has a mild and dry climate. The structure of the town is very original; its buildings cling, in tiers to the rock face. The small houses, all huddling on top of each other, so characteristic of Positano, form the subject of endless photos. The vibrant colors; the white of the buildings, forming a perfect canvas for the bright flowers which decorate the houses, and the small artisans', shops with their multihued cloths, present the visitor with a vista which is almost difficult to believe. Then there is the smell of the leather used for making sandals, and the restaurants specialised in fish dishes, and the bustle of every day life...

The villa lies directly above the village of Positano in a lovely position with a superb view, and from the garden and from the terraces you can take in the whole coast as far as the promontory at Praiano, and below you can see the centre of Positano and the beach. The special atmosphere and particular warmth of this property mean that few people really want to leave it to go down to the beach, even though it's only 15 minutes away on foot. There's nothing new to say about Positano, and it goes without saying that it is one of the most fascinating places in the world, where both during the day and at night-time you can go through wonderful experiences that you are unlikely to find elsewhere. You reach the villa on foot up an attractive little alley-way of about 200 metres, and our guests can use a baggage-carrying service both on arrival and on departure. From the entrance gate, passing through the garden, you come to the main part of the house, and carrying on along the garden terrace you come to the second part of the house, which is completely independent. On the terrace below there is a private swimming-pool (10x10m) for guests' use, that has been furnished and equipped with great care. Every angle of the fenced garden is like a perfect water-colour of a beautiful view. The Villa is furnished in modern style with some rustic details The Villa is available for 8 to 10 people plus 1 extra room for 2 people. It is based on 4 levels and it has a big garden, a dining room with an ancient fireplace and a huge kitchen. On the last floor under a big olive grove tree there is the swimming pool. The main villa has 3 bedrooms with private bathrooms and then there are two more bedrooms with baths in little depandances only steps away. There many artist, painter and poet found the quiet they where looking for; such as the German poet Stefan Andres (1937 - 1949). Escaped from Germany during the first world war he lived there for several years and there he took inspiration through the beauty of the olive groves and the grapes. Today the road that brings at the Villa takes his name. Than the family Bertolli, famous for the fine olive oil they produce, lived there for almost 20 years. In 1968 Aniello Oliviero rebuilt the Villa. As chief of the Italian Cookery Academy he realized some of the most incredible cooking event.
